下午好。在此，我代表从化区人民政府向各位介绍一下今年12月中旬将在从化区举办的首届世界生态设计大会的筹备情况。

Good afternoon. On behalf of the People's Government of Conghua District, I would like to make a brief introduction to the preparations for the First World Ecological Design Conference to be held in Conghua District in middle December.

刚才，高秘书长阐述了举办世界生态设计大会的目的意义和大会的主要内容，我再向各位介绍一下从化承办本次大会的具体筹备情况。

Just now, Mr. Gao has elaborated on the purpose and significance of holding the World Ecological Design Conference and the main contents of the Conference. I would like to introduce to you the specific preparations made by Conghua for organizing the Conference.

记者朋友们可能都很关心，世界生态设计大会为什么会落户从化？从化作为粤港澳大湾区后花园，具有得天独厚的的条件。可以说，从化，是举办世界生态设计大会的理想之地。

Dear reporters, you may be concerned about why the World Ecological Design Conference is settled in Conghua. As the back garden of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Conghua has advantaged conditions. It can be said that Conghua is the ideal place for hosting the World Ecological Design Conference.

其一，从化生态资源丰富。从化物华天宝、人杰地灵，是驰名中外的温泉旅游胜地和全国闻名的荔枝之乡，素有“北回归线上的明珠”和“广州后花园”之美誉。从化森林覆盖率高达68.9%，广州“母亲河”——流溪河流经全境，北回归线穿越其间，四季温润。得天独厚的亚热带阳光和温带雨水滋养出众多闻名中外的生态景观：被誉为“岭南第一泉”的从化温泉，水质晶莹，无色无味，是与瑞士达沃斯温泉齐名的世界珍稀含氡小苏打温泉；流溪河国家森林公园和石门国家森林公园，古树参天，风景如画；特别是荔枝、龙眼、黄皮等岭南佳果名满天下、畅销海内外。从化的自然生态赋予了从化四季美景，春日桃花，夏季佳果，秋天红叶，冬有寒梅，是名副其实的生态之城。改革开放40年以来，伴随波澜壮阔的中国城镇化进程，从化区的发展也日新月异，从籍籍无名的偏僻小城变成了今日宜居宜业宜游的现代化城区。特别是2016年以来，为加快将绿色生态优势转化为富民兴村优势，加快实现“农业强、农村美、农民富”的发展目标，从化区正式启动了特色小镇的规划建设工作，莲麻小镇等已取得了良好的经济社会效益。以生态设计大会为基础建设的全国首个生态设计小镇正是从化特色小镇建设又一个典范。

First, Conghua is rich in ecological resources. As a favored place for producing natural treasures and outstanding people, Conghua is a famous hot spring resort and famous hometown of Litchi in China. It enjoys the good reputation as"The Pearl on the Tropic of Cancer" and"The Back Garden of Guangzhou". Conghua has the forest coverage of 68.9%. The"Mother River" of Guangzhou--Liuxi River passes through the whole territory of Conghua. The Tropic of Cancer passes through it, with warm and humid seasons. The unique subtropical sunshine and temperate rain nourish many famous Chinese and foreign ecological landscapes: Conghua Hot Spring, known as"the first spring in Lingnan", is a world-famous rare radon-containing baking soda hot spring with crystal water, colorless and tasteless, as famous as the Davos Hot Spring in Switzerland; Liuxi River National Forest Park and Shimen National Forest Park have the towering old trees and picturesque scenery. In particular, litchi, longan, clausena lansium and other fruits in the south of the Five Ridges are famous all over the world and are popular both at home and abroad. Conghua's natural ecology has endowed Conghua with four beautiful seasons, peach blossoms in spring, good fruit in summer, red leaves in autumn and cold plum in winter. It is a veritable ecological city. Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago, along with the magnificent process of urbanization in China, the development of Conghua District is also changing with each passing day from the obscure remote town to a modern city suitable for living, industry and tourism. Especially since 2016, in order to speed up the transformation of the green ecological advantages into the advantages of enriching the people and revitalizing the villages, and to accelerate the realization of the development goals of"strong agriculture, beautiful countryside and rich farmers", Conghua District officially launched the planning and construction of characteristic towns. Lianma Town and other towns have achieved good economic and social benefits. The first eco-design town in China built on the basis of the World Ecological Design Conference is another model for the construction of small characteristic towns in Conghua.

其二，从化具有当好“两个重要窗口”的独特条件。在举办世界生态设计大会的良口镇区域，还有从都论坛和香港赛马会两个重要项目，加上世界生态设计大会，将构成我区推进新时代改革开放再出发的重要平台。从都论坛是国际高端交流平台、香港马会是粤港澳大湾区项目、生态设计大会是国际高新技术发展平台，三个项目互相呼应、相互补充、相互融合，将极大推动广州北部发展。

Second, Conghua has the unique conditions of being"two important windows". In Liangkou Town, where the World Ecological Design Conference will be held, there are other two important projects as Imperial Springs International Forum and Hong Kong Jockey Club. Together with the World Ecological Design Conference, they will constitute an important platform for Conghua District to push forward the reform and opening-up in the new era. Imperial Springs International Forum is an international high-end exchange platform; Hong Kong Jockey Club is a project of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; and the World Ecological Design Conference is an international high-tech development platform. Mutually echoed, complemented and integrated, the three projects will greatly promote the development of northern Guangzhou.

其三，广州是中瑞低碳城市项目五个合作城市之一，作为广州的生态屏障，从化有责任和能力通过生态设计的力量打造出低碳城市的典范。而且，从化地处粤港澳大湾区腹地，紧邻工业设计发达的深圳、东莞、佛山等制造业基地，具有生态与工业设计融合发展的优势。

Third, Guangzhou is one of the five cooperative cities of China-Switzerland Low-carbon City Project; as the ecological barrier of Guangzhou, Conghua has the responsibility and ability of creating a model of low-carbon city through the power of ecological design. Moreover, Conghua is located in the hinterland of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is close to Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan and other manufacturing bases with developed industrial design. It has the advantage of integration of ecological and industrial design.

其四，生态设计大会会场本身是生态、低碳的模板。大会会场是在旧的良口镇综合农贸市场基础上改造的，没有增加1平方米的用地，完全是对废旧建筑的活化利用。会场建设采用了从化出产的竹子、瓦片等本土生态材料，还运用了太阳能发电等的低碳环保技术，结合生态低碳理念，建筑形态与周边的山、水、林、田、村融为一体。湾区设计开发大学等项目也是在旧厂房、旧学校基础上改造建设的。引入的服务机器人、智能平衡车、生物光源等产业也都是绿色、低碳、智能的生态产业。

Fourth, the conference site of the World Ecological Design Conference is a template of ecology and low carbon. The conference site is rebuilt on the basis of the old comprehensive farmer’s market in Liangkou Town. With no land added, it was completely the activated utilization of waste buildings. The construction of the conference hall has applied the local ecological materials such as bamboo and tiles produced in Conghua and the low-carbon environmental protection technologies such as solar power generation, etc. Combined with the ecological and low-carbon concept, the architectural form is integrated with the surrounding mountains, water, forests, fields and villages. Bay Area Open University of Design and other projects are also rebuilt on the basis of old factories and old schools. The service robots, intelligent balance vehicles, Bio-Light sources and other industries introduced are also green, low-carbon and intelligent ecological industries.

目前，在市政府的领导下，我区会同中国工业设计协会正有序推动大会的各项筹备工作。

At present, under the leadership of the Guangzhou Municipal Government, Conghua District, together with the China Industrial Design Association, is promoting the preparations for the Conference in an orderly manner.

大会会场建设已完成90%，预计11月25日完工，投入测试运行。周边配套建设的生态设计大道、湾区设计开放大学、民居外立面整饰等项目均在紧张施工，预计11月底全部完工。

The conference site has been completed up to 90%, and is expected to be finished on November 25 for trial operation. The surrounded supporting ecological design roads, Bay Area Open University of Design, the decoration of the exterior facade of the residential buildings and other projects are all under intense construction and expected to be completed by the end of November.

大会会务筹备有序推进。已经取得了大会批复，中国轻工业联合会已下发《关于同意举办“首届世界生态设计大会”的批复》，并对出席外宾进行了资格审查。制定了大会方案，明确了大会的目标任务、日程安排、具体分工等内容，并成立首届世界生态设计大会指挥部，下设7个专项工作组。目前相关小组已正式开阵相关工作。启动了志愿者招募。根据大会安排，将统一招募、培训200多名志愿者，目前正开展报名筛选工作。其它会场布置、大会宣传、展览展示等相关工作正有序推进。我区有信心和能力把首届世界生态设计大会办好、办精、办出成效。

The Conference will be prepared in an orderly manner. With the approval of the Conference, the China Light Industry Council has issued the Reply on Approving the"First World Ecological Design Conference" and has conducted a qualification review of foreign guests. The Conference Scheme has been formulated to clarify the target tasks, schedules, specific division of labor, etc. of the Conference. The headquarters of the First World Ecological Design Conference has been established, with seven special working groups. At present, relevant groups have officially started related work. The volunteer recruitment has been initiated. According to the arrangement of the Conference, more than 200 volunteers will be recruited and trained in a unified manner, and registration screening is currently underway. Relevant work such as venue layout, conference publicity, exhibition display, etc. is progressing in an orderly manner. Conghua District has the confidence and ability to run, manage and achieve results in the First World Ecological Design Conference.
